Projects

Projects help you group related chats and resources in one place. Instead of managing each chat individually, you can bundle everything that belongs to a topic, task, or workflow into a single project.

A project is a shared workspace for a specific topic or task. It can contain:

  • Chats – All conversations related to the project
  • Knowledge – Knowledge bases and files that are automatically available in every project chat
  • Skills – Skills that are always active in every project chat
  • Instructions – Custom instructions that apply to every project chat
  • Created content – Documents, diagrams, and spreadsheets created in project chats
  1. Open the Projects page from the sidebar
  2. Click New project
  3. Enter a name and optionally a description
  4. The project is created and you can start adding chats

You can assign existing chats to a project or start new chats directly from within a project:

  • New chat from project: Open a project and use the input field to start a new chat. The chat is automatically part of the project.
  • Move existing chat: Use the three-dot menu (⋯) on a chat to add it to a project.

Project Context: Knowledge, Skills, and Instructions

Section titled “Project Context: Knowledge, Skills, and Instructions”

The project context is what makes projects powerful. Any knowledge, skills, or instructions you add to a project are automatically used in every chat within that project — without manually selecting them each time.

Under the Knowledge tab, you can:

  • Add knowledge bases – Select existing knowledge bases that should be available in all project chats. The AI can search them automatically.
  • Upload files – Upload files directly to the project. These are processed and available as context in all chats.
  • Remove items – Detach knowledge bases or remove files when they’re no longer needed.

Under the Skills tab, you can:

  • Add skills – Choose skills that should always be active in this project. You don’t need to select them manually in each chat.
  • Remove skills – Detach a skill if it’s no longer relevant to the project.

Under the Instructions tab, you can write custom instructions that are added to every chat in the project. For example:

  • “Always respond in formal German (Sie-Form)”
  • “Base your answers on the regulations of the State of Hesse”
  • “Format responses as short bullet points”

Click Save after writing or changing instructions.

When you’re in a chat that belongs to a project, you’ll see small icons in the chat header that indicate the project context. Click them to open a side panel showing:

  • Which skills are active in this project
  • Which knowledge bases and files are available
  • Which instructions apply

This way you always know what context the AI is using in your project chats.

Under the Created content tab, you can see all documents, diagrams, and spreadsheets that were created in chats within this project. Each entry shows:

  • The title and type (document, diagram, or spreadsheet)
  • The version number
  • When it was last updated

Click an entry to open the chat where it was created and continue working with it.

You manage building permit applications and create a project called “Building Permits 2026”. You add the knowledge base with the current building regulations and a skill for formal responses. Now every new chat in this project automatically has access to the regulations and uses the right tone — without any extra setup per chat.
