Use in Skills and Chats

You can use knowledge collections in two ways: as a permanent assignment to a skill or directly in an individual chat.

When you create or edit a skill, you can assign one or more knowledge collections. The skill then automatically has access to the associated documents in every chat.

This is useful when a skill should always access certain documents — e.g., a “Citizen Inquiry Help” skill that always knows your municipality’s ordinances and regulations.

You can also add a knowledge collection directly to a new chat:

  1. Start a new chat
  2. Click the plus icon
  3. Select the desired knowledge collection

This is handy when you want to access certain documents one time without setting up a dedicated skill.

When you ask a question in chat:

  1. The AI searches the assigned knowledge collections for relevant sections
  2. The matching sections are provided to the AI as context
  3. The AI formulates its answer based on these documents

This means the answers are grounded in real information from your files — not guesswork.

The more specific your question, the better the AI finds the right passage in the document.
